What a difference a week makes!
As I sit here writing today, we have just received the news that our beautiful city of Melbourne is coming out of our five-day snap lockdown. The feeling I have right now is pure elation, excitement and feeling that it is all going to be ok.
But all it takes is that shift in mindset, that takes you from either “yeah, but we still have to wear masks”, to “yes! We can get back to work.”
One thought can either set you up or totally derail your day.
How often does it happen, that a comment or someone annoys you – and you take that out to your entire day and even on your family. It used to happen to me all the time. You continue in the negative merry-go-round, attracting negative buddies along the way that totally obscure your view to any other possibilities.
If 2020 has taught us anything at all, it’s that we are not in control of anything at all. Anything except our reactions. To you, or For You. It all comes down to perspective and whether everything around you is happening to you, or for you.
I have had to really dig deep into my coaching the past five days. I have had to release those feelings of feeling stuck and restricted. The realisation that this is now apart of our normal life also dawned on me. That we must strengthen our muscle of resilience and adaptability to ensure we go about our business in the most productive way. Without falling into a heap when we are faced with a challenge or change.
I feel I have finally got all the jigsaw pieces falling into place, I have a clear plan of where to network and build my audience.
Sometimes I feel like I am making absolutely zero progress. A whole lotta effort, planning, affirmations the works - for nothing. Not even one like or love heart!
Then there are some days, where I make that one connection. That one person who takes a look at the opportunity offered. And it feels incredible. But it all comes down to consistency. Small steps each and every day. The ones people know nothing about. The ones that all add up to become a daily habit that others become envious of. That’s when I know the impact I want to make is actually happening. I get a few more comments each week. A few more connections. I know I am on the right path. I know it. My gut fills with excited butterflies to keep me on track. Telling me to keep going, do that live video. To not give up – because you have worked too hard to quit.
Like the brilliant Lisa Nichols said in December 2020, “Winners never quit, Quitters never win”.
So here I am, continuing along this path, without caring what others are doing. So, what if it takes me five years longer than everyone else! I achieved the same success, right?
That is why my mentoring program within my free Facebook group Living Your Inspired Life (https://www.facebook.com/groups/3738726379540957) is centred around you. What your dreams and plans are. With whatever time you have to work on you.
What we have is such a gift. Inspiring women and making impact is such a precious gift that has no boundaries around time.
It is all effort based – and fortune absolutely favours the Brave!
